Multiple Aliquippa Jr. High football players injured after bus crash in Beaver County

This morning at approximately 9:50 this morning we had *** bus accident on Schaffer Road in the economy borough. The bus was transporting other school district kids to *** football game. There’s approximately 25 people on board the bus. 21 of those were patients that were transported to area hospitals. Have any type of status on those. We are not aware of haven’t been told of anybody’s status at this time. And just as far as the bus, can you kind of give us *** rundown on what exactly happened? We’re not sure. That’s still under investigation. It’s, it’s on *** bad bend, so. It’s being investigated right now to determine what happened. We were talking to one of the parents. They did go to ETM to see is that where most of the children were transported to. I believe most were transported to Children’s Allegheny General. bus driver injured, I believe so, yes. Was the bus driver taken to or he was taken to *** hospital. I’m not sure where. Can this bend and with the bus, did it ever roll over multiple times, or can you describe what the bus because I know it was upright when we saw it. Yeah, from what I understand, the bus did fall onto its side. However, it got uprighted as the children were evacuating the school bus. And just kind of um where are we at right now. It’s still under investigation. We have accident reconstruction down there. So once we have some more information from that, we’ll be able to maybe answer some of those questions. Can you talk *** little bit about the emergency fire and law enforcement response? It was was it multiple counties because of the location or because of *** mass casualty incident, *** combination of both? Well, we border Allegheny County, so we had some help from them. Bell Acres, I believe, was there. I know we had EMS and fire from several jurisdictions, and we had police there from several jurisdictions as well. When you talk about when the kids evacuated, were those wires on the ground and were those wires hot? From what I understand, the wires were high. I think some of those kids were able to get around those. With with any um. Like fire anybody there quickly enough to say stay where you are, or did they know where to go. I cannot answer that question. Where were they? Where was, where was the game at? Where were they headed? Pine Ridgeland. OK. Thank you. What time was the game? I did. And um how many students and faculty were on that bus? Do you have *** total I believe there were 2 adults on that bus. The rest were all students. How are those? Um, I believe that they’re fine. Fine, I’m sorry. I don’t believe they were transported. And how many students were on there? Approximately 21, 21. OK. And. Mayor Walker, is there anything you would like to say? No, I just, just pray for our babies and I just wanna thank Come Breau, Mayor Joanne, Mary Brewer, the chief on the response, and they’ve been the hospitality has been amazing, um, and I would cater to people just not cater to the rumors. Unless you hear it from the horse’s mouth, you know, it’s just speculation. You just keep praying for the family. All we need to be concerned about right now is praying for the families. That’s it. And then make sure they’re OK, insulate them and make sure they’re OK, and the moms and dads are OK because this is the time you need to be riding around. This is all hands on deck right now. I can’t, I gotta think. Everybody who was involved in Bay area out of all the all the all the fire departments and police departments and mayors who showed up to the fight. So this is something that when babies, something like this happens to our babies, everybody should respond without question. So we, I know the city of Al’s grateful. I know the families are grateful. We are extremely grateful. Thank you. Is anybody else doing those things? OK, thank you. Thank you very much. 25 kids with 21. 25 kids. So *** total of 27 on the bus plus the bus driver 2020. Perfect. Thank you
