SPOKANE, Wash. — The official Gonzaga Athletics website updated the men’s basketball roster Monday, listing a full 15-man roster despite eligibility questions surrounding four potential key pieces of this year’s team.

The Zags return two key players from last year’s squad, including senior forward Braden Huff, who missed most of last season with a knee injury, and sophomore guard Davis Fogle, who had an impressive freshman campaign.

One of the biggest additions for Mark Few and the Zags this offseason was Arizona State transfer Massamba Diop, a 7-foot-1 sophomore from Senegal. Huff and Diop are projected to give Gonzaga one of the strongest frontcourts in the nation.

GU also brought in Houston transfer guard Isiah Harwell. The Pocatello, Idaho, native averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game last season with the Cougars as a freshman.

The Zags officially announced the addition of French guard Nathan De Sousa last week.

Gonzaga will welcome three true freshmen, including Luca Foster, Juwan Ekanga and Sam Funches. Parker Jefferson, a 6-foot-9 forward, redshirted last season and will look to make an impact this year.

The Bulldogs also have two preferred walk-ons listed, including Alonzo Metz and Carter Nilson.

Here is where things get hairy for Gonzaga.

The roster includes Florida transfer Xaivian Lee, Dayton transfer Javon Bennett, Florida State transfer Chauncey Wiggins and Izan Almansa, who played for Real Madrid of Spain’s Liga ACB last season.

What do all four of these players have in common? They haven’t been officially deemed eligible for the 2026-27 season by the NCAA.

Lee is currently eligible after a judge granted a temporary restraining order allowing him and other players in California to compete. However, the NCAA is expected to appeal the decision soon.

According to Theo Lawson of the Spokesman Review, Bennett was granted a fifth season of eligibility after a judge in Ohio issued a preliminary injunction. But the NCAA successfully requested a stay, temporarily putting that decision on hold. A federal appeals court in Ohio heard arguments from both the players and the NCAA last week and is expected to rule soon.

Wiggins is in a similar situation. He was ruled eligible by a judge in Georgia, but the Court of Appeals later granted the NCAA’s request for a stay, making him ineligible for the time being.

Almansa’s eligibility is pending an eligibility waiver from the NCAA related to his professional basketball history, which includes stints in the G League, Australia’s NBL and Spain’s Real Madrid.

Fans will get their first look at the 2026-27 Gonzaga Bulldogs this Saturday for Kraziness in the Kennel. The event will air on SWX-TV starting at 2 p.m.
