Best and Fairest season kicked off in white hot style as Richmond premiership stars Dion Prestia and Nathan Broad were farewelled at Richmond’s Jack Dyer Medal on Tuesday night at Crown.
Prestia’s partner Brooke Bailey stunned in a rouged white gown with sparkling diamonds, as the couple stepped out on the yellow and black carpet.
“We drove here tonight, it’s nice to have a celebration for Dion,” Bailey said.
Broad and wife Tayla, expecting their second child in December, will officially make the move to Perth on Saturday.
“We’ve been packing shipping containers in between getting ready,” Tayla said.
“It’s exciting. It still feels a bit surreal and just like it’s the off season.”
Broad said she learnt her lesson with leg cramps from heels at the Brownlow and wore sensible flat shoes.
Newlyweds Jacob and Liv Hopper brought a Paris glow to the night having married in the city of love on September 4.
The couple eloped with just immediate family present.
“It was out the front of the Louvre,” Hopper said.
“We love Paris and it was a beautiful spot.”
The couple honeymooned in the South of France, Sicily and Sardinia.
“Eventually we’ll have a big party with friends and family,” Liv said.
Forward and new dad Tom Lynch was flying solo with wife Olivia staying home with their very new baby daughter Kennedy.
“She’s going great,” he said,
“It worked out perfectly with timing.”
Tash Hoole went ‘extra’ with her stunning cut out gown as her fiance Tim Taranto went for his own three peat of Jack Dyer Medals.
The couple will marry in November next year at a location yet to be locked in.
White was a popular colour with the partners.
