Formosa’s #49 Ford Ranger will not wear its usual orange livery at the Mountain, instead dressed in the familiar red, yellow and black Supercheap Auto colours.
The livery change is being carried out in conjunction with Formosa’s regular backer Uniden, with Supercheap Auto serving as the brand’s major retail partner.
Formosa’s Ranger carries a similar design to the Team 18 Wildcard entry of Craig Lowndes and Bayley Hall in the Great Race.
The one-off partnership for Bathurst brings the automotive retailer into the championship for the first time, and celebrates the brand’s long-standing relationship with Mount Panorama and the Bathurst 1000.
Having appeared on several cars competing in the Great Race since the late 1990s, Supercheap Auto was also the race’s title sponsor from 2005-2021.
“Bathurst holds a special place in Supercheap Auto’s history,” said Supercheap Auto sponsorship and content manager Justin Murray.
“We’ve been part of the event for more than 25 years and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Uniden and Chris Formosa as we support our first V8 SuperUte entry.
“We look forward to making it super with Chris and Uniden at one of Australia’s greatest sporting events.”

For Uniden executive regional general manager Damon Gardner, the partnership represents an opportunity to showcase a successful commercial relationship in front of a passionate audience that lives and breathes automotive culture.
“Supercheap Auto is an important retail partner for Uniden and Bathurst week is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen that relationship,” Gardner said.
“Bringing together the promotion and our presence on track gives fans another reason to connect with both brands.
“It’s a great way to celebrate our partnership on one of Australian motorsport’s biggest stages, and we can’t wait to see it out on track.”
Round 4 of the V8 SuperUte Series will be held as part of the Bathurst 1000 from October 8-11.
