The UFC is back at the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, October 10, for UFC Vegas 122. In the main event, middleweight contenders throw down, as Brendan Allen takes on Christian Leroy Duncan.
Below, I’ll share my UFC Vegas 122 predictions, including my favorite pick, an underdog, a prop and a two-fighter parlay. All UFC odds are via the DraftKings Sportsbook and are accurate as of the post date of this article.
UFC Vegas 122 Betting Favorite
Brendan Allen (27-7) vs. Christian Leroy Duncan (15-2) – Middleweight
In the main event, Brendan Allen is fighting down in the rankings again against Christian Leroy Duncan, and I like Allen to get his hand raised.
Allen has won three straight fights and is super underrated. During the win streak, he beat Marvin Vettori, finished Reinier de Ridder and beat Edmen Shahbazyan. Allen seemingly gets one fight up in the rankings and then fights down again, as he wants to stay active. Duncan is another step down.
Duncan does pose some problems with his hands, as he posesses some power and has won five straight fights. However, Duncan’s grappling is a concern, as Allen is an elite grappler. Allen’s cardio is also solid, so expect him to push a heavy pace for five rounds.
I like Allen to use his wrestling early and often to grind on Duncan and get a late submission win, which will cement himself as a true title contender.
UFC Vegas 122 Bet: Brendan Allen (-148)
UFC Vegas 122 Underdog Play
Gerald Meerschaert (37-22) vs. Julius Walker (7-3) – Light Heavyweight
For my underdog bet at UFC Vegas 122, I’m taking Gerald Meerschaert to get his hand raised against Julius Walker at light heavyweight.
To me, these odds are way too high, as Walker is -285 and the third biggest favorite on the card. Still, he’s someone I wouldn’t trust with my money. Walker is coming off an eight-second KO loss just 3.5 months ago, so this is a quick turnaround, and I worry about his chin after back-to-back knockout losses with little time to recover.
Meerschaert isn’t a KO artist, but he is a veteran who has fought the who’s-who at middleweight and is moving up in weight. There is a chance he gets knocked out in the first round, but if he doesn’t, I think Meerschaert can get Walker down and get another late stoppage win.
To me, Walker should be around -150 to -175, so getting Meerschaert at +230 makes it a must-play.

UFC Vegas 122 Prop Bet
Matheus Camilo (11-3) vs. Jai Herbert (14-6-1) – Lightweight
For my prop bet at UFC Vegas 122, I’m taking Matheus Camilo to beat Jai Herbert by KO/TKO/DQ.
Camilo takes on Herbert in the co-main event, which should be a fan-friendly fight at lightweight for however long it lasts. Both are known for their striking, but I trust Camilo more. To me, he’s more technical and has more power.
Camilo ran through Nazim Sadykhov last time out, which is an impressive win. Herbert did pull off a comeback win over Mandel Nallo in his last bout, but he got hurt multiple times, and Camilo hits harder than Nallo.
I expect Camilo to come out aggressive and land power shots to get a knockout win in the first round.

UFC Vegas 122 Parlay
RJ Harris (6-0) vs. Allen Frye Jr. (6-1) – Heavyweight
Lupita Godinez (14-6) vs. Ketlen Souza (17-6) – Strawweight
For my parlay at UFC Vegas 122, I’m taking RJ Harris and Lupita Godinez to get their hands raised at the Apex on Saturday.
Harris takes on Allen Frye on the prelims in a heavyweight bout that won’t need the judges. Harris is 1-0 in the UFC and had an impressive KO win over Alvin Hines. Frye, meanwhile, lost his debut and isn’t someone I’m too high on. Frye’s striking defense is a major concern, as he is there to be hit. Harris also hits hard, and I expect him to land damaging shots and get a TKO win here.
To close out the parlay, I’m taking Godinez to beat Ketlen Souza on the main card. Godinez is one of the top strawweights, as her losses have been to the very best: Mackenzie Dern, Virna Jandiroba and Tatiana Suarez. I like Godinez to use her wrestling to control Souza and cruise to a decision win, as Souza isn’t on the level of the fighters Godinez loses to.
