Figuring out who is or will be eligible for a fifth year of college basketball is a daily battle that tends to only create more questions with every passing hour.
We are weeks from the Nov. 2 opening day and there is a group that is — for the time being — ruled eligible and a group that still if fighting its way through courts in various states.
Robbie Avila is in the latter group and I’ve tracked his saga the last two months on this site. Meanwhile, several SLU regular-season opponents have fifth-year players on their rosters or still fighting to become eligible.
