Open Thread, October 12, 2026: Who is the best athlete you’ve seen compete in person?

Here’s your open thread for Monday.

I’ll always be a GSP stan.

It’s Wilt Chamberlain’s birthday today. That inspired my question today. My answer is probably either Roy Halliday (pictured up top) or Alan Shearer. As far as favorite athlete, then’s Gianfranco Zola. As a Toronto sports fan, I also got to see the NBA champ Raptors plenty.

Reaction videos are my one of my guilty pleasures. I’ve watched a lot of them reacting to this Larry Bird compilation.

I don’t usually use this quiz format.
