The Australian Coffee Traders Association (ACTA) will return as an association parter of the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) in 2027, strengthening ties between the event and Australia’s coffee supply chain.

ACTA works to raise industry standards, promote coffee and support networking and education across the sector. It also represents the industry to media and regulators on issues including green coffee pricing, market movements, customer requirements, and EPA standards.

Having partnered with MICE in 2026, Chairperson Domenic Musumeci says ACTA will continue its involvement in 2027 as the expo brings together businesses from across the coffee industry.

“We see MICE as the Southern Hemisphere’s leading coffee event, and as a forum for the coffee industry to meet, network and learn about the latest developments in coffee roasting, consumer and product trends,” Musumeci says.

MICE attracted 157 exhibitors and 14,159 unique visitors to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre across three days. Trade visitors accounted for almost two-thirds of the audience, with roasters representing nearly 30 per cent of trade attendees.

“The range of exhibitors and attendees at MICE mirrors the depth and scale of ACTA’s own membership,” he says.

The partnership also creates opportunities for ACTA to connect with businesses across the supply chain, from those sourcing and trading green coffee to roasters and suppliers serving Australia’s café sector.

“The partnership allows ACTA to forge new contacts, explaining what ACTA does today as well as promoting ACTA’s past achievements on behalf of the Australian coffee industry,” Musumeci says.

The collaboration aligns with MICE’s focus on connecting different parts of the coffee supply chain, including through its Trip to Origin feature. Returning in 2027 with an expanded three-day programme, the feature will bring green coffee producers, traders and importers together on the show floor for talks and cupping sessions with roasters, buyers, and café owners.

MICE 2027 will also give ACTA an opportunity to engage with emerging businesses and new entrants to the industry, while strengthening relationships with established members of the coffee community.

“We’re looking forward to the opportunity to meet with both established and new players in the industry, and to promote greater awareness of ACTA’s leading role as an industry association,” he says.

MICE 2027 will take place from 4-6 March at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
