Italy maintains its lead in the World Trophy after the third day of the 6DAYS Portugal 2026, with France more than three minutes behind. The United States is just 11 seconds off the podium, while Josep García secured his second consecutive scratch victory. France continues to lead in the Junior category, and the United States dominates in the Women’s category.

The 100th edition of the 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations has reached its halfway point with Italy leading the World Trophy. The third day ended virtually neck and neck between the Italians and the French, with the leaders gaining just two seconds, maintaining a three-minute, 26-second advantage over France.

The third day featured a new route, although dust forced the cancellation of the Santo André special stage on both runs. Italy’s Samuele Bernardini and Sweden’s Axel Semb both crashed with the conditions to thank for their misfortune.

Because of the cancellation, only the times for Santiago do Cacém and Grândola counted, reducing the day’s timed stages to just over 26 minutes for the top ten overall finishers.

The standout performance was the United States’ comeback. Grant Davis, Jonathan Girroir, and Dante Oliveira finished fourth, fifth, and sixth overall, respectively, with Stewart Baylor in thirteenth. This strong team effort allowed the Americans to close the gap to Sweden by almost 50 seconds and move within 11.41 seconds of third place.

“We’re making up ground. I had a bad crash on a special stage that was later cancelled, and I hurt my elbow, but as a team we did very well. Grant and Dante were very fast. We’re finding our rhythm and we have to keep going like this,” Girroir explained.

García back on top

In the individual competition, Josep García, now clear of dust, was once again the fastest on the timesheets, beating Andrea Verona by 11.80 seconds, while Zach Pichon finished third, 33.27 seconds behind. Following the three Americans, Axel Semb, Julien Roussaly, Nathan Watson, and Max Ahlin rounded out the top 10.

“I’m quite happy with my riding. They cancelled the second special stage in both laps, which didn’t benefit me because I was in the thick of the fight. I also had a crash in the penultimate special stage, but we had a great day,” García commented.

Verona, for his part, acknowledged that he is still looking for a better feel for his KTM: “I rode well, although I still need to find a good feeling with the bike on some sections. We’ve improved compared to yesterday.”

Spain remains fifth in the World Trophy, seven minutes and 21 seconds behind Italy. Despite García’s victory and solid performances from Marc Sans (23rd) and Sergio Navarro (25th), the Spanish team is losing ground to the United States, now more than two minutes ahead. Finland remains sixth, more than 11 minutes behind Spain.

France maintains its lead in the Junior World Trophy

In the Junior World Trophy, France remains in the lead with Clément Clauzier, Thibault Giraudon, and Romain Dagna, extending their advantage over Italy to 42.53 seconds, 13 seconds more than yesterday. The Italians continue to be in contention despite physical problems for Alberto Elgari and Kevin Cristino, both suffering from shoulder injuries. “We’re having some difficulties within the team, but we’re not giving up,” Elgari acknowledged.

The United States completes the provisional podium, three minutes and 42 seconds behind France, while Spain, with Álex Puey, Albert Fontova and Yago Domínguez, remains fourth, five minutes and 25 seconds behind the leader and one minute and 42 seconds behind the Americans.

The United States dominates the Women’s World Trophy

In the Women’s World Trophy, the United States maintains its lead with Brandy Richards, Korie Steede and Rachel Gutish, extending its advantage to four minutes over Australia, second with Jessica Gardiner, Danielle McDonald and Nadi Simpson.

France completes the provisional podium, 33 minutes and two seconds behind the leaders, while New Zealand and Chile occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
