51′ Wallaroos can’t lose focus (Wallaroos 42-12)
The Scots have enjoyed the momentum after rebounding from the Wallaroos’ most recent try.
It’s crucial the Wallaroos don’t dop their focus from this point.
When I spoke to Wallaroos lock Kaitlan Leaney during the week, she stressed the need for an 80-minute performance.

The view from Stadium Australia
Hi rugby fans, I’m at Stadium Australia today for this historic quadruple header.
The crowd has been slowly building since this game kicked off, but in such a huge stadium it does feel quite sparse at the moment.
I spoke to Wallaroos back-rower Piper Duck this week, and she said it meant a lot to her and the players to receive more opportunities to play at home, and on the big stage, as they build towards the 2029 Women’s World Cup in Australia.
She said the last time she was at this stadium was watching the Matildas at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and hopes the Wallaroos can have their own Matildas moment.
“I genuinely believe the personality, the athletes, and the characters we have within the Wallaroos group, and the way we play rugby, there’s not one person in Australia that will not relate to someone in our team,” she said.

Second half makes a start
Here we go for the second 40!
The Wallaroos kick off as they hold a 35-5 lead.
Will they pile on more scoreboard misery for the Scots?
Or will the tourists lift themselves off the canvas?

The Wallaroos’ half-time lead didn’t come by chance.
They have dominated the Scots in some key departments.
The home side only missed two tackles in the opening 40 minutes, having executed a brilliant defensive performance.
Their discipline has been sound as they are yet to concede a penalty.
Scotland, meanwhile, has been penalised five times, a stat that led to Meryl Smith’s yellow card.
The Wallaroos were found wanting at the beginning of the match when they let Scotland through for an early try.
And they lost possession on one of their line-out throws deep inside Scottish territory.
But it’s largely been a blemish-free performance from the hosts.

26′ Wallaroos earn scrum penalty (Wallaroos 14-5)
Well done to the Wallaroos, earning a scrum penalty on a Scottish feed inside their half.
The Wallaroos have a lot of confidence in their set-pieces and they have shown their dominance at scrum time.

20′ Scots warned by ref (Wallaroos 7-5)
Referee Maggie Cogger-Orr has had a stern conversation with Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm about her side’s discipline.
The Scots have given away six penalties already.
Cogger-Orr won’t hesitate to reach for a card if this continues.

What can the Wallaroos do from here?

A wasted chance for the home side.
