UPDATE: Street Fighter super fan YouTuber Tyrone Magnus calls it “one of the worst movies” he has ever seen.
The Street Fighter walkout reports are adding up.
Following the reader comment on Deadline’s box office report claiming guys were leaving over the movie’s homoerotic scenes, Cosmic Book News now has firsthand accounts from opening night.

Six Groups Out The Door
A friend of Cosmic Book News caught the movie and watched people leave before it was over.

“I had a few groups walk out before the movie was over. About 6 [groups]. Probably 14 total tickets,” he tells us.
We received more details on what happened.
“First time I was in a movie where people walked out. First a dad and 2 boys halfway through,” he continued.
“Then the group next to me was another dad and 2 boys. The boys lost interest and were hanging out in the hall on their phones and the dad just told them they were gonna leave,” he added.
That’s one screening, and it matches what the Deadline commenter described at his.

A Friday Night Showing Of One
I can add my own: at my 9:45 p.m. showing on opening night, I was the only person in the theater.
RELATED
Friday night, prime time, one ticket sold.
It fits the opening. The movie is coming in at the low end with $30 million, with a rotten critics’ score and an audience that got a very different movie than the one the trailers sold.
Walkouts and empty late shows are the opposite of word of mouth, and word of mouth is the only thing that saves a movie that started soft on an $82 million budget.
The weekend totals arrive Sunday.
My full Street Fighter review is coming this weekend. It’s complete garbage, and here’s why.
