Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set to begin her Ningbo Open campaign against world No. 32 Diane Parry.

The main draw of the Ningbo Open in China is expected to begin on Monday, although Eala’s official match schedule has yet to be announced.

Parry, a 24-year-old French player, has one WTA singles title to her name, having won the WTA 500 Monterrey Open in Mexico last August.

She is coming off Round of 64 exits at the China Open and the Wuhan Open.

Parry has also competed in Grand Slam tournaments since 2019. This year, she reached the French Open’s Round of 16 and the Round of 64 at both Wimbledon and the US Open.

Eala, meanwhile, is looking to bounce back after her recent campaign in Wuhan, where she suffered a Round of 64 exit against Han Shi and a Round of 16 exit against Tatiana Prozorova in Singapore.

The winner of the Round of 32 clash between Eala and Parry will face either Diana Shnaider or a qualifier in the next round.
