Zeljko Obradovic became just the fifth head coach in Greek Basketball League history to reach 450 games. The milestone was achieved against Peristeri. Impressively, all 450 of his appearances on the sidelines have come exclusively with Panathinaikos.

Zeljko Obradovic has added another remarkable achievement to his legendary coaching career, reaching 450 appearances on the sidelines in Greece’s top basketball division.

The milestone came during Panathinaikos’ matchup against Peristeri Betsson in the third round of the Greek Basketball League (GBL).

The Serbian tactician has now become only the fifth coach in the history of the competition, which dates back to the 1963–64 season, to reach this impressive number.

A place among the greats

Obradovic’s 450 games place him among some of the most experienced coaches in Greek basketball history. Soulis Markopoulos leads the list with 712 appearances, followed by Vangelis Alexandris with 537, Giannis Ioannidis with 489, and Argyris Pedoulakis with 462.

What makes Obradovic’s achievement even more remarkable is that all 450 appearances have come exclusively with Panathinaikos, underlining his long-standing connection with the Athens-based club.

A legendary relationship with the Greens

The 66-year-old returned to Panathinaikos this summer after a 14-year absence, beginning a new chapter with a team where he previously enjoyed extraordinary success.

During his first spell, from 1999 to 2012, Obradovic guided the Greens to 23 major trophies, including five EuroLeague titles, 11 Greek league championships, and seven Greek Cups.
