Playing styles and prediction

Despite not having the best record on other surfaces, Chidekh has a tremendous record on indoor hard courts. The Frenchman has won Challenger and ITF events on the surface with Fearnley knowing more than most how much of a threat Chidekh can be with the Frenchman beating the Brit at a Challenger event earlier this season. Now, Chidekh aims to repeat the feat and produce a big win in his season as he has huge aspirations ahead of 2027.

Fearnley will need to serve aggressively and will use the backhand to force errors from Chidekh’s game. Meanwhile, Chidekh will use the forehand to pin Fearnley behind the baseline as he will look to close out rallies at the net. This will be a difficult match for Fearnley and the Brit will need to be at his best level in order to advance to the quarter-finals in Brussels.

Prediction: Chidekh in three sets.
