AS Dick Johnson Racing celebrates its last-lap victory in the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 and turns its eyes to this weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, the latest issue of V8 Sleuth Magazine rewinds to tell the story of its last Bathurst-winning Falcon.

The 1994 Tooheys 1000-winning Falcon EB – driven to victory by Dick Johnson and John Bowe – is the cover car of Issue 6 and we unpack its racing history and eventual demise.

Crashed at Phillip Island in 1996 by Bowe, the chassis was scrapped and we’ve chatted with various DJR team members of the era as to the how and why.

Not only was it a Bathurst-winning chassis, but the EB/EF5 chassis was also a championship winner, raced by Bowe as an EF to the 1995 Australian Touring Car Championship crown.

Issue 6 is jam-packed with plenty of great reading from some of the best motorsport journalists in the country.

Our columnists bring extra insight once more; David Hassall recounts a memorable meeting with none other than Bob Jane and Neil Crompton dives deeper into his connection and early meeting with Peter Brock.

Issue 6 also takes a deep dive into all of the V8 Supercars built by Paul Morris Motorsports – including who they were all nicknamed after – in something of a drive down memory lane.

We also sit down with Bruce Williams to unpack the category that started its life as Junior Tourers and ended as Future Tourers, as well as profile the quiet-achiever of the Supercars and speedway engine world, Ken McNamara.

Mark Walker recounts the stories of exclusions from Great Races past at Bathurst and all of our regular segments are back, including Strange But True, One and Done, My First Bathurst and more.

Issue 6 of V8 Sleuth Magazine is available to purchase online here in the V8 Sleuth Superstore now.
