October 27, 3:00 PM UK time
Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) will host a webinar on October 27 at 3:00 PM UK time, looking at how vertical farming projects gain the investor, partner and customer backing needed to reach commercial operation. The session, titled ‘Growing confidence: pathways to commercial-scale vertical farming’, is free to attend.
According to IGS, a Scottish company that designs and builds industrial-scale vertical farming systems, the discussion will cover securing investment and stakeholder confidence, lessons from commercial deployments, and the role of research and development projects. The company says it will also address how crop performance data supports decision-making, how offtake relationships are built and secured, and how modular deployment allows for phased expansion.
The panel consists of four IGS staff. Sandy Kennedy, Head of Commercial Relationships, oversees the sales and legal teams. Gina Mercier, Head of Sales Europe, brings more than fifteen years of experience in sales and product management across specialty chemicals, technology and agritech. Douglas Elder, Head of Vertical Farming Solutions, joined IGS in 2015 to manage construction of its first vertical farming facility at Invergowrie, near Dundee. Phil Prizeman-Green, a Plant Scientist with a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, works on evidence-based growing strategies for commercial vertical farming systems.
Attendees can submit questions to the panel ahead of the session and during a live Q&A. IGS says the webinar is aimed at established growers as well as entrepreneurs considering entry into vertical farming.
