The Swans’ ‘Pullman Four’ are reportedly set to be named for the opening round of 2027.

Code Sports reports the four players who received season-ending suspensions for breaching club expectations with their boozy night following Round 23’s win over Essendon are expected to be named in the team for Round 1.

Police are still completing their investigations into the sexual assault allegations, and the outcome of that could lead to further sanctions.

No charges have been laid and each player has denied any wrongdoing, with Bice cleared by police.

The Swans have stated since the time of the sanctions imposed that they were entirely in regard to expectations.

And now the club is believed to be satisfied they have been punished sufficiently, with Isaac Heeney, Riley Bice, James Jordon and Chad Warner all likely to line up in the Swans’ Round 1 fixture in 2027.

The news comes as Code also revealed the AFL is weighing up kicking off the new season with a clash between the Swans and Cats at the SCG on Wednesday night, March 17.

The AFL has already confirmed the 2027 season will start later than in recent years due to the 150th anniversary Test match between Australia and England taking place from March 11 to 15. Round 1 will instead either begin on March 17 or 18, with the fixtures set to be announced this week.

With Opening Round scrapped, it will be a traditional nine-game list, followed by the Easter weekend of games in round two.

Gather Round will be played in round four, and it coincides with school holidays.

Those Gather Round fixtures were released on Monday, headlined by new Western Bulldogs star Zak Butters facing his old side following his blockbuster free agency move.
