BEN Grice will represent Team Thryv Race For A Cure in back-to-back Sandown weekends, after fielding an SOS to substitute for Ben Kavich in Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia.
Kavich took part in Practice 1 this morning but has now handed the #11 entry over to Grice amid an ongoing health issue.
“While I am disappointed not to finish the event, particularly as I love these cars and the Sandown circuit, I know it is the sensible decision,” Ben said.
“I am handing the keys to Ben Grice, who I consider one of Australia’s most underrated racing talents.

“The silver lining is that Ben will gain valuable track time at Sandown ahead of driving our Team Thryv Race For A Cure Trans Am car next weekend, when the series supports the Supercars Sandown 500.
“I have enormous respect for Ben and I know he will give it everything he has got. I will be right there cheering him and the entire team on.”
Grice said: “I am gutted for Ben. While I relish any opportunity to get behind the wheel of a race car, I would much rather have seen my friend finish the event himself.
