Position: PG/SG | Size: 6’2″, 205 lbs | Age: 19
There may be debate around Jordan Smith Jr.’s NBA ceiling, but he’s still going to be very popular during a draft cycle lacking obvious stars.
Scouts figure to find themselves able to bank on his defensive pressure, given his strength, quickness, length and intensity. Offensively, he’s going to shine in transition with his speed and athleticism, and while he may go through ups and downs with his shooting consistency and decision-making, Smith has demonstrated self-creation in the mid-range, three-level shotmaking ability and enough playmaking to be used as a primary ball-handler an offense can run through at different points of a game.
Inconsistent three-point shooting and 6’2″ size are the likely drawbacks that cause scouts to hesitate projecting Smith top three in a draft.
