A Rockhampton man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in central Queensland last week.
Police say emergency services found a 27-year-old man at a Lammermoor address in Yeppoon on Friday with fatal stab wounds to the chest.
He died at the scene.
Ricky Lawrence Vaughan, 36, was arrested by police hours after the incident and has been charged with the man’s alleged murder.
The matter was briefly mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He did not appear and was remanded in custody.
He will return to court in October.

Police manhunt
Police allege there was an altercation between the two men at the Maida Street address just after 7am last Friday and that they were known to each other.
The alleged offender left the scene in a white utility with a woman before crashing it at Hamilton Creek near Mount Morgan, more than 80 kilometres away, just before 11am.
Police allege the pair then abandoned the crashed ute before threatening another woman and taking her car.
Officers intercepted that car near Gladstone, south of Rockhampton, before taking the 36-year-old man and the woman, 20, into custody.
The woman was later released without charge.
Following investigations, detectives from Yeppoon Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Group on Monday night charged Mr Vaughan with murder.
