As the 4 PM deadline approaches today for roster cuts, there are moves happening league-wide that should be of interest to Bengals fans.

The Jaguars released a pair of 2024 fourth-round picks in offensive tackle Javon Foster and defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson. Both players could be of interest to the Bengals, along with several other teams around the league.

Foster might be worth making a claim for, specifically, with the lack of depth at the offensive tackle position. The Bengals have already released Devin Cochran and Andrew Coker at that position today.

Another option at the offensive tackle position could be Carter Warren. Warren was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft class for the Jets and is still only 26 years old.

Another player that is probably a bit less realistic is Gabriel Murphy. Another player from the 2024 draft class appears to be on his way to being released by the Minnesota Vikings. He is a guy with plenty of pass-rush juice who would likely contribute to the Bengals’ defensive end room.

However, the Bengals seem to love Cam Sample, and Isaiah Thomas was impressive as a pass rusher during the preseason as well. They are more likely to keep those guys than they are to make a waiver claim at that position.

The Bengals are also thin in the Safety room currently, with Daijahn Anthony likely being placed on Injured Reserve. One player who was recently released is Jalen Mills. Mills is now 31 years old and not the same player he once was, but maybe adding him to the practice squad would be an option early in the season.

There will be several more noteworthy players cut today and even more once the dust settles tomorrow after waiver claims are announced. Stay tuned to Cincy Jungle for all of your updates this week.
