Blackmagic Design has announced a significant price drop for their URSA Cine camera kits. Since launching the line in 2024, the company has focused on reducing production costs and is now passing those savings directly to customers. The result is a new price point that makes these large-format digital cinema cameras far more accessible to filmmakers looking for high-end image quality at a lower cost.
Released just last year, the URSA Cine lineup introduced a 17K camera built around a large 65mm image sensor. If you’d like to dig deeper, we’ve covered the full-frame 12K model in detail, and you can also watch sample footage shot with the 17K 65. And for those considering it for high-end productions, the URSA Cine 17K 65 is now officially approved by Netflix.

We at CineD have extensively tested the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF, examining its dynamic range, rolling shutter performance, and overall image quality. The Lab Test highlighted how the 12K LF delivers exceptional resolution and robust latitude at a price well below many competing large-format cinema cameras.

Each URSA Cine kit includes the camera body, an 8TB Media Module, top handle, baseplate, power supply, and battery plate, all packed into a rugged Pelican case. Depending on the model, users can also add the optional EVF.
Price and availability
At the time of publication, the updated prices are not yet reflected online, but we expect this to be updated shortly. A full list of kit contents can be found on the Blackmagic Design website, and filmmakers can locate a reseller through the company’s dealer network.
The updated pricing, excluding duties, is as follows:
