Since 1998, more than 300 players have proudly worn the famous red and green, each contributing to the Club’s modern journey. From premiership heroes to record-breakers and current fan favourites, the final starting 13 is a blend of modern-day stars and Club legends. Every player selected has left a lasting legacy, shaping South Sydney’s story in the NRL era and cementing their place in Rabbitohs history.

The Ultimate Rabbitohs Starting 13
Fullback – Greg Inglis

One of the greatest to ever wear the Rabbitohs jersey, Inglis was a match-winner in every sense of the word and played a pivotal role in delivering the 2014 premiership.

Winger – Alex Johnston

The Club’s all-time leading try scorer, Johnston has 210 tries (and counting) since debuting in 2014 and now sits on the cusp of history, chasing Ken Irvine’s all-time NRL record of 212.

Winger – Nathan Merritt

A fan favourite and local hero, Merritt scored 146 tries between 2002–2014, making him one of the greatest try scorers in Rabbitohs history, and is a former George Piggins Medallist.

Centre – Campbell Graham

Still part of the current squad, Graham has earned a reputation as one of the toughest and most consistent players for our Club. His 2023 campaign was his best season to date, earning selection in the New South Wales Blues squad.

Centre – Dane Gagai

A hard-working and reliable centre across his four seasons with South Sydney, Gagai was a constant presence in big games, playing in the 2021 Grand Final for South Sydney and playing many State of Origin games for Queensland.

Five-Eighth – Cody Walker

One of the craftiest and most skilful playmakers to pull on the Rabbitohs jersey, Walker has played over 200 games for the Rabbitohs since debuting late in his career at 26.

Halfback – Adam Reynolds

A proud Souths junior who came through the system to help deliver the Rabbitohs their drought-breaking 2014 premiership, our first since 1971.

Prop – Sam Burgess

A marquee signing from England and one of the Club’s greatest ever forwards, Burgess inspired the 2014 premiership triumph, famously winning the Clive Churchill Medal in the Grand Final against the Bulldogs despite playing with a fractured cheekbone.

Prop – Roy Asotasi

Seen as one of the most important signings of the mid-2000s, Asotasi brought professionalism and leadership at a crucial time for the Rabbitohs. A destructive forward and respected captain, he helped lay the platform for future success.

Hooker – Issac Luke

Affectionately known as “Bully,” Luke was a fan favourite and a dynamic hooker who consistently lifted the team with his energy, toughness and passion for the jersey.

Second Row – John Sutton

The most capped Rabbitohs player of all time with over 300 Rabbitohs games, Sutton captained the side in the 2014 premiership and is etched into Club folklore as one of South Sydney’s greatest ever leaders.

Second Row – Ben Te’o

Though he played just two seasons with the Rabbitohs, Te’o’s impact was immense. His damaging finals run in 2014, including his barnstorming try against the Roosters, remains one of the defining memories of the Club’s premiership campaign.

Lock – Cameron Murray

The current captain and Mascot junior, Murray has represented at every level of the game and continues to set the standard on and off the field.
