Kevin Walters has spoken about the size of challenge that awaits new Gold Coast Titans head coach, Josh Hannay, likening it to his own arrival at the rock bottom Brisbane Broncos in 2021.<\/p>\n

In three years, Walters took the game\u2019s biggest club from the ignominy of the 2020 wooden spoon to within minutes of winning the 2023 NRL Grand Final.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust looking from the outside, (the Titans) are no different to the Broncos,\u201d Walters said on the Inside Ball<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re coming last, you\u2019re doing a lot of things poorly and it doesn\u2019t just hang with the coach, it\u2019s the whole club.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Titans need change, there\u2019s a lot of work be done, not just by Josh Hannay but everyone,\u201d Walters added.<\/p>\n

The Australian Kangaroos coach then pointed to a lack of stability on the Gold Coast as potentially being a factor in the Titan\u2019s continued struggle to deliver success.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe clubs that have the most success are the ones that are most stable\u2014just look at the top four right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRicky Stuart has had his moments at the Raiders, Craig Bellamy has been at the Storm for a million years, the Warriors have stuck by Andrew Webster despite missing the finals last year, they actually finished below the Broncos and now they\u2019re in the top four again.<\/p>\n
