Media personality, musician and content creator Isaac Compton will face a hearing next year after he was accused of common assault and allegedly sexually touching two women.<\/p>\n
In March, Mr Compton, 39, pleaded not guilty in Newcastle Local Court to two counts of sexually touching another person without consent, along with two counts of common assault.<\/p>\n
In New South Wales, the maximum penalty for common assault in the Local Court is two years in prison.<\/p>\n
The maximum penalty for sexual touching in the same court is five years.<\/p>\n

Both were allegedly sexually touched and assaulted at the same time without consent on April 7, 2024, between 6am and 6:15am.<\/p>\n
The offending is alleged to have occurred in the inner-city Newcastle suburb of Islington.<\/p>\n
Not guilty pleas<\/p>\n
Court documents said Mr Compton was charged by Newcastle police on January 4 this year.<\/p>\n
He pleaded not guilty to all charges during his first court appearance in March.<\/p>\n
Mr Compton was excused from attending court on Thursday as his matter was listed for a return of subpoena.<\/p>\n
The court heard the subpoena was on NSW Police for the production of material that both the prosecution and defence sought to photocopy.<\/p>\n
Magistrate Caleb Franklin opened two sealed envelopes while on the bench, granting both parties access to the material.<\/p>\n

Hearing date set<\/p>\n
Court documents said Mr Compton’s hearing date for September had now been vacated, with a new date set for February 9 next year.<\/p>\n
“I confirm the hearing date with a combined estimate of four hours,” the magistrate said.<\/p>\n

Mr Compton has appeared on Channel 9 and the ABC.<\/p>\n
His management team describes the Wiradjuri and Mununjali man as “a professional musician, First Nations activist, popular social media phenomenon, reality TV personality and self-proclaimed comedian”.<\/p>\n
