Garcia back to his best in 6DAYS\u00ae Italia<\/p>\n
Despite nursing an injured hand,\u00a0Spain\u2019s Josep Garcia (KTM) began Day Five in fighting spirit. Immediately showing no signs of weakness, the Spaniard placed fastest in the opening special test of the day by six seconds.\u00a0Italy\u2019s Andrea Verona (GASGAS), Day Four winner, topped the following two special tests, but with\u00a0Garcia winning the fourth and final special test, he claimed his third outright individual day win in this year\u2019s 6DAYS\u00ae Italia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the overnight rain, conditions were not easy today,\u201d\u00a0told\u00a0Garcia.\u00a0\u201cBut I\u2019m happy to be back on top again, even with some crashes and mistakes. I\u2019m focused on pushing again tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
With\u00a0Garcia and Verona leading the way,\u00a0Sweden\u2019s Mikael Persson was again next-best to the top two. The Triumph rider has proved super consistent in this year\u2019s race and will look to end Day Six on a high.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was really muddy and a lot of rain,\u201d commented\u00a0Persson.\u00a0\u201cI enjoyed it a lot and had a good day, going third again. I\u2019m pleased with how I have been riding this week and looking forward to Day Six.\u201d<\/p>\n
Australia\u2019s Kyron Bacon (Kawasaki) placed three seconds behind\u00a0Persson in fourth, with\u00a0Italy\u2019s Samuele Bernardini (Honda) rounding out the top five. In total, just eighteen seconds separated Persson in third and\u00a0Italy\u2019s Kevin Cristino (Fantic) in tenth, proving just how competitive the 6DAYS\u00ae Italia is.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0outright individual win resulted in Garcia also claiming Enduro1 class honours. Persson and Bernardini completed the top three on Day Five.<\/p>\n
Verona led home his Enduro2\u00a0classmates, with\u00a0Bacon second\u00a0and the\u00a0United States\u2019 Jonathan Girroir (KTM) in third.<\/p>\n
Securing his first class win of the week,\u00a0Australia\u2019s Josh Strang (Beta) was best of his Enduro3 rivals,\u00a0beating Cristino\u00a0by less than two seconds, with\u00a0France\u2019s Julien Roussaly (Sherco) third.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Women\u2019s class was hotly contested by the United States\u2019 pairing of Brandy Richards (KTM) and Korie Steede (Husqvarna). In the end, Richards trumped her teammate by half-of-a-second to take the win.\u00a0Australia\u2019s Danielle McDonald continues to have a great 6DAYS\u00ae Italia, placing third on Day Five.<\/p>\n
