We’ve got guys fighting for NRL spots and those guys play on Saturday night.”

It would take a minor miracle for the Bulldogs to finish anywhere but third, which could open the door for Ciraldo to rest players given his side’s last bye was way back in round 16.

They face the Sharks next week but the plan for now is for everyone to play one last game to get ready for the finals where they’re hoping to cause some damage.

“We had 11 games straight leading into the finals and we’d planned to play every game,” Ciraldo said.

“If we had to rest people, it would be in and around training and things like that.

“That’s the plan, but if there are some niggles, then we’ll think about that (resting guys). We’re looking forward to a really strong game next week to build our game for the finals.

“When we set out in pre-season with what we wanted to do, we wanted to go a few steps further than what we did last year, and top four was part of that.

“So to tick that off is nice, and now we can prepare for a really good game against another quality opposition next week and hopefully build on what we did.”

As for the Panthers, the top four is officially out of reach, which means they face a brutal road ahead if they are to claim a fifth title in a row.

Ivan Cleary rested 16 players from the team that lost to Canberra in golden point last week for the Bulldogs clash, and he wasn’t giving much away when asked if his stars would return for the round 27 match against the Dragons.

“We’ve got a plan,” he said with a smile.

“We’ll just see how it goes.”

Originally published as Cameron Ciraldo reveals the three candidates to replace injured star

Enari Tuala, Jethro Rinakama and Blake Wilson loom as the three leading candidates to replace injured Bulldogs winger…

[568
64,63,4026,7618,16308,12979,5098,4555,761,762,158,5357,74706,85
0":"post-103276","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nrl","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-bulldogs","11":"tag-cameron-ciraldo","12":"tag-finals","13":"tag-injuries","14":"tag-ivan-cleary","15":"tag-jacob-kiraz","16":"tag-national-rugby-league","17":"tag-nationalrugbyleague","18":"tag-nrl","19":"tag-panthers","20":"tag-resting","21":"tag-sports
["GET
