The altcoin\u2019s contrarian rally<\/a>, as the rest of the market stalled or cooled off, has prompted analysts to believe that it could be setting the stage for further outperformance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In fact, the rally could be more pronounced towards the end of the year, noted<\/a> Jake Ostrovskis, Options trader at market maker Wintermute.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For Ostrovskis, the expected approval of Spot ETFs by October and increasing crypto treasury demand could be key catalysts for the altcoin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven a lack of large ETFs, the DAT narrative in SOL has the potential to be a key driver into year-end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will rotation favor SOL?<\/p>\n

SOL has lagged behind ETH since Q2, as evidenced by a 54% plunge in the SOL\/ETH ratio.<\/p>\n

The dislocation was due to an uptick in crypto treasury interest, a new demand lifeline that lifted ETH\u2019s market sentiment.<\/p>\n

Additionally, massive ETF inflows<\/a> rallied ETH higher in Q2 and Q3 amid stablecoin and tokenization frenzy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But SOL could soon have similar demand avenues, and this week\u2019s 12% rebound in the SOL\/ETH ratio expressed such expectations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In fact, a whale opened<\/a> a $30 million long position on SOL and shorted ETH, underscoring the rotation thesis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That said, Sharps Technology, the latest crypto treasury firm, secured<\/a> $400 million capital and could expand it to $1 billion for its SOL strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Similarly, existing public firms like DeFi Development Corporation doubled down on SOL with the latest $77 million bid<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As of press time, the total SOL held by public firms has surged to 3.4 million tokens worth over $720 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition, with some issuers like VanEck pushing<\/a> for a staked Solana ETF that lets users directly earn yield, the ETF approval could boost SOL per analysts\u2019 projections.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Overall, ETF and crypto treasury could be a game-changer for the altcoin towards the end of the year. On the price charts, SOL could rally to $300 if it breaks above $220, according to analyst Ali Martinez.<\/p>\n

A similar positive outlook was recorded across the Options market. <\/p>\n

The 25 Delta Risk Reversals (25RR) were highly positive for the end of Q3 and Q4 Options expiries, suggesting bullish sentiment (more demand for calls or bullish bets). <\/p>\n

In fact, there was a 37% chance the $300 level could be hit by December. The odds dropped to 16% for September, underscoring that the market expected a strong move for SOL in Q4.\u00a0<\/p>\n
