Selena Gomez<\/a> just shared a photo-dump<\/a> from her bachelorette party in Cabo last week, but we can’t take our eyes off one dress in particular.<\/p>\n

In keeping with tradition, Gomez wore many shades of white throughout the duration of the trip, including a scalloped white bikini<\/a>, which she layered under a crochet cover-up (also white), an off-the-shoulder minidress with crochet floral embellishments, and white sweatpants, which appeared to be gifted to all the girls.<\/p>\n

But the pearl-embellished dress, which she paired with a \u201cbride to be\u201d veil, was the star of the show. The halter-neck mini, from the brand Retrof\u00eate ($1,498)<\/a>, is completely covered in strands of pearls, including at the collar, which gave the look of a pearl choker necklace. Between the strands of pearls were shimmery white sequins\u2014barely visible unless you’re really zooming\u2014that caught the light just so. This is a dress that’s made for the camera flash. Pearls have been having a moment for several seasons, cropping up on the runways and red carpets almost as often as in jewelry collections. The boxy cut of Gomez’s mini is more timeless, a bit of a callback to the \u201860s\u2014which reminds me, isn’t Gomez supposed to star<\/a> as Linda Rondstadt in a biopic? Because with this look, I can definitely see it.<\/p>\n

Much was made of Taylor Swift’s absence from Gomez’s bachelorette party when photos of the girls on the yacht were published on August 24<\/a>, but now we have a better understanding of why Ms. Swift was unable to attend\u2014other than that it would have probably quadrupled the security risk, having two of the most famous people on the planet in one place. Swift was busy celebrating her own engagement to fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce<\/a>, and gosh darn it if she wasn’t just a little distracted.<\/p>\n

Though very few details about the wedding have been made public\u2014including the exact date and location\u2014rumor has it that Selena Gomez and fianc\u00e9 Benny Blanco<\/a> will be tying the knot in September (which certainly tracks given the timing of the bachelorette party). Could Gomez’s pearl mini be a hint at the style of her wedding dress? Something ’60s-esque, with clean lines and a hint of shimmer? And more importantly, will Swift be there? Watch this space.<\/p>\n
