\n\tGlen Powell<\/a> is unrecognizable in the first full-length trailer for his new Hulu<\/a> comedy Chad Powers<\/a>. Powell formally debuted the trailer Saturday on ESPN\u2019s College GameDay.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by former star NFL quarterbacks (and current ESPN personalities) Eli and Peyton Manning<\/a>, Chad Powers sees Powell playing Russ Holliday, a hotshot quarterback who destroyed his playing career after making an unforgivable, vanity-driven mistake in a college football championship game.<\/p>\n

\n\tEight years later, he seeks redemption, under heavy makeup and prosthetics and under the pseudonym, Chad Powers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSouth Georgia is having open tryouts? I am going to do a Mrs. Doubtfire, but with football,\u201d Powell says at one point in the trailer (below).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tChad Powers debuts on Hulu Sep. 30 with two episodes. New episodes will stream on Tuesdays for the subsequent four weeks.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe show can trace its origin to a sketch that starred Eli Manning<\/a> in 2022, in which he put on prosthetics and attended an open tryout at Penn State, with a camera crew capturing the disbelief from other players and attendees.<\/p>\n

\n\tEli Manning and Powell spoke to The Hollywood Reporter for this week\u2019s cover story<\/a> about making the show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat made Eli\u2019s thing so magical is the viewer knew Eli Manning was under [the disguise]. So, let\u2019s use the lie at the center of this thing, which creates inherent fun conflict over the course of the series,\u201d Powell told THR. \u201cWe were like, \u2018OK, we\u2019re going to\u00a0Tootsie\u00a0this thing. Let\u2019s\u00a0Mrs. Doubtfire\u00a0it, and let\u2019s see how far we can take this lie.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

\n\tEManning serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions\u2019 Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN\u2019s Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, Kati Fernandez. Waldron and Adam Fasullo are executive producing for Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe will executive produce and Tony Yacenda will serve as director and executive producer.
