Read our <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/betting-editorial-standards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">editorial standards<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>Cam Schlittler may be just what the Yankees\u2019 pitching staff needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the Bombers\u2019 starting rotation teetering, the 24-year-old right-hander made his <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/article\/best-baseball-betting-sites\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">big league<\/a> debut in early July and has been their best starter ever since.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In eight starts, Schlittler has a 2.76 earned run average with 46 punch outs over 42 \u2153 innings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s been even better in his last three outings after seemingly getting his home run problems under control.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 17 \u2154 innings since Aug. 13, Schlittler has allowed just one earned run (0.51 ERA) without allowing a single long ball.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schlittler is still walking too many batters over that stretch, with seven free passes across the three outings, but he\u2019s been nearly unhittable, giving up just seven hits with 20 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>The underlying advanced metrics show that this recent stretch is no fluke as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36971930\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2231210107.jpg\" alt=\"New York Yankees pitcher throwing a baseball.\" class=\"wp-image-36971930\"  \/>Cam Schlittler #31 of the New York Yankees pitches in the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M.
