And Racing Bulls could also use a driver of Hadjar\u2019s calibre as a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n Isack Hadjar is the frontrunner to replace Tsunoda<\/a>, and his career-best qualifying performance may have only strengthened his chances of a promotion.<\/p>\n The French rookie explained: \u201cEvery young driver from the Red Bull Academy has the same goal: First, get into Formula 1, then gain a foothold in the A-Team.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m no exception. I\u2019m not here just to race along\u2014I want to achieve the maximum.<\/p>\n \u201cThe title is my biggest dream\u2014and of course, it\u2019s much more realistic with a top team.\u201d<\/p>\n Red Bull chief Helmut Marko<\/a> spoke to Sky Sports DE after the session as well, and he admitted: \u201cHadjar had problems with the power unit twice yesterday<\/p>\n \u201cBut he just handled it, and when it counted, he delivered very well.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve extended the option for now and want to continue monitoring before we make a decision in September or October.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: Red Bull have now made a \u2018painful realisation\u2019 about Yuki Tsunoda<\/a><\/p>\n The \u00a31.5m-a-year driver<\/a> is trying to convince Red Bull to renew his contract, but with Hadjar and Liam Lawson outqualifying him, it\u2019s not the best start to racing again after the summer break.<\/p>\n Speaking in his post-race media session, Tsunoda explained: \u201cI believed that I did my best today, to be honest. I was happy with the lap; it felt clean, and there weren\u2019t any mistakes from my end, so it was strange that we didn\u2019t extract the peak performance to get into Q3.<\/p>\n \u201cThe car was good and the pace was there, [but] the result didn\u2019t match the way I felt during the session.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m disappointed and frustrated with the result today, but I shall keep digging to find performance tomorrow.<\/p>\n Friday 29th August to Sunday 31st August \u201cI qualified close to the points, so there is potential to score, and that\u2019s what we\u2019ll aim to do as I felt confident in the car, so we\u2019ll see what tomorrow brings, where anything can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n Tsunoda hasn\u2019t scored points since the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix<\/a>, and breaking that duck at Zandvoort feels like a requirement given where Hadjar is starting the race from.<\/p>\n![\"Ralf](\"https:\/\/cdn1.f1oversteer.com\/uploads\/37\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2232648049-1024x683.jpg\")
