Joey Essex won a bunch of new fans during his gutsy boxing debut at Misfits 22. <\/p>\n

The reality TV star made a surprise switch to fighting in Manchester, England, on Saturday night. <\/p>\n

Joey Essex went to war with Portuguese influencer Numeiro in a highly entertaining four-round scrap.<\/p>\n

There wasn\u2019t much skill involved, but both men showed tons of heart as they put on a Fight of the Night contender. <\/p>\n

Joey Essex walked away with a majority decision (37-37, 38-36, 39-37) win at the end of his boxing debut. <\/p>\n

Amused and impressed fans took to social media to voice their thoughts on the wild scrap they had just witnessed. <\/p>\n

Who is Joey Essex?<\/p>\n

Joey Essex made his name on the British reality TV show \u2018The Only Way Is Essex\u2019, which follows the lives of a group of young people from the Brentwood area of England.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old quit \u2018TOWIE\u2019 in 2013. Since then, he\u2019s appeared on several other reality TV shows, including Love Island, Dancing on Ice, I\u2019m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.<\/p>\n

Essex has boxing in his blood. His father, Donny Essex, is an ex-fighter. Tony Sims, his uncle, is a world-renowned coach who has worked with the likes of Anthony Joshua<\/a>, Conor Benn, and Ricky Burns.<\/p>\n
