Magda Szubanski<\/a> has shared a heartfelt update amid her cancer battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffb\ufeffeloved Australian actor and comedian<\/a> shared a video message to her Instagram that she filmed from her hospital bed.<\/p>\n

In the video, she thanked a young Australian for bringing her a spot of joy during her chemotherapy treatment which she says is “smackin’ [her] around right now”.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffThis is a special shoutout to little ten-year-old Annabella Willis,” Szubanski began the video message.<\/p>\n

“I just wanted to say \ufeffdarling thank you so much for your impressionation of Sharon Strezlecki,” she continued referring to her iconic Kath & Kim character.<\/p>\n

She explained that the young girl dressed up as the netball-loving character for Book Week \u2013 an homage to the Golden Globe winner that left her feeling very honoured.<\/p>\n

“I’m in here having chemo and it really cheered me up,” Szubanski explained.<\/p>\n

“I’m very touched and that was a beautiful thing to do, thank you my sweet.<\/p>\n

“Lots of love to you, bye now and lots of love to you all,” she concluded the message.<\/p>\n

Szubanksi lay in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown as she recorded the message.<\/p>\n

In the caption she reiterated her gratitude for the young student.<\/p>\n

“Thank you beautiful Annabella Willis\ufeff from SA for your stellar Book Week homage to Shraon,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

“Chemo smackin’ me around right now and you really cheered me up. Bless you my darlin.”<\/p>\n

\ufeffHer video message comes three months after Szubanski announced that she has been diagnosed with a “rare and fast-moving” blood cancer.<\/p>\n

She shared the news via Instagram saying she has stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma \ufeffwhich she called “one of the nasty ones”.<\/p>\n

“Lovelies. Well. Some not great news,” \ufeffthe Kath and Kim<\/a> star captioned her video, in which she appears with a shaved head “in anticipation of it all falling out”.<\/p>\n

“It’s serious, but I’ve started one of the best treatments available… and I’m lucky to be getting absolutely world-class care here in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

“I won’t sugar-coat it: it’s rough. But I’m hopeful.<\/p>\n

“I’m being lovingly cared for by friends and family, my medical team is brilliant, and I’ve never felt more held by the people around me.”\ufeff<\/p>\n

Since revealing her diagnosis, Szubanski says she has been showered with love and support from those around her and the wider Australian public.<\/p>\n

Last month, Szubanksi was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame for her contribution to the Australian media industry over decades.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAlthough she could not attend in person, she accepted the honour with an emotional video message expressing gratitude for all the support.<\/p>\n

“The love and support that I have felt, like a tsunami, from the Australian public, it has been overwhelming,” she said, wiping away tears.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”When I go online and look at those messages, every time, my heart lifts, and I feel that much stronger to deal with the cancer.<\/p>\n

“So thank you for the love that you are pouring my way.”<\/p>\n
