It took Dillon Danis just over six years to finally get another MMA fight, and just 15 seconds for him to finish it.<\/p>\n
Danis faced off against Influencer boxer Warren Spencer for the Misfits MMA light heavyweight championship, and the second he got a sniff of Spencer\u2019s neck it was all over (watch the submission finish here).<\/a> The bout looked like a clear mismatch from the get-go, but according to Danis it was the best Misfits could do at that time.<\/p>\n \u201cIf we showed the list of people that we tried to get and didn\u2019t take it, it would be pretty crazy because there are a lot of guys that are world champions that have a lot of accolades that turned down this fight,\u201d Danis said at the X Series 22 post-fight press conference. \u201cBut after this, seeing the performance I put on, I think we\u2019ll get a big name.\u201d<\/p>\n Misfits president Mams Taylor didn\u2019t want to speculate on who may be next for \u201cEl Jefe,\u201d but Danis shouted out his preference.<\/p>\n \u201cNate Diaz,\u201d he said with a smile.<\/p>\n Diaz had been in negotiations with Misfits to be Darren Till\u2019s original opponent, but that fell apart and Luke Rockhold was called in. The Stockton fighters is currently angling<\/a> to get on the UFC\u2019s 4th of July White House card for a third fight against Conor McGregor. It\u2019ll be hard for Danis to land Diaz so long as that big money rubber match seems possible.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, that would have been easy,\u201d Danis said, but then suggested Hall would have to cut down to 265 pounds if he wants the fight.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has to make at least UFC weight,\u201d he said. \u201cHe can\u2019t even make the UFC heavyweight limit. But if he makes it, hell yeah I\u2019ll do it. 425 is what he wants to fight at, I\u2019m 170. So, like, come on. Make at least make the UFC limit.\u201d<\/p>\n Hall\u2019s weight fluctuates between 365 and 425, so 265 is just not happening. And what\u2019s a bit of extra weight in a freakshow fight like that? Danis has the experience and Hall has the size \u2014 that\u2019s the whole angle of the match-up.<\/p>\n Given Dillon Danis\u2019 reputation as a toxic troll<\/a> and unreliable<\/a> wildcard,<\/a> he doesn\u2019t have a long list of high profile opponents jockeying to fight him.
