(WKBN) \u2013 The Cleveland Guardians have promoted former top prospect George Valera to the Major League roster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His first appearance in a game with the Guardians will mark his Major League debut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As of September 1, Major League teams are permitted to expand their rosters from 25 to 28 players.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The 24-year-old split the 2025 season between the Arizona Complex League and Triple-A Columbus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At Triple-A, Valera was batting .255 with three home runs, six doubles, two triples and 10 RBIs in 28 games for the Clippers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Valera, who was a top prospect for the Guardians as recently as 2022, originally signed with Cleveland as an international free agent in 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In additional roster moves, the Guardians also recalled pitcher Zak Kent and outfielder Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Infielder Will Wilson was optioned to Triple-A.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
