Alexander Bublik hadn\u2019t dropped serve once through his first three wins at the US Open. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s now been broken six times out of eight times by Jannik Sinner, including in the opening game of the set for the third time in a row. <\/p>\n

Sinner meets a drop shot and puts away the forehand down the line. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not over,\u201d yells someone from the crowd. It definitely is. <\/p>\n

Bublik double-faults on 30-30 but saves the next break point to just about stay in touching distance. He grins at the applause he receives for holding serve and getting on the board in the second. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s still unable to do much to disrupt Sinner, who faced a tough test in the previous round against Denis Shapovalov. <\/p>\n

But that\u2019s what Bublik has done as Sinner takes charge of the second set. Another rueful shake of the head from Bublik as he double faults on the third break point. <\/p>\n

Well, Bublik does try and mix it up, but with disastrous results. While 40-30 up, Bublik goes for back-to-back underarm serves, but puts the first wide and the second into the net. <\/p>\n

You can\u2019t do that against Sinner, who races to reach a poor drop shot from Bublik on set point and thrashes the backhand for a winner. <\/p>\n

A 6-1 first set, in 23 minutes. <\/p>\n

Another forehand loops wayward from Bublik, who is unable to match the top-spin and weight of Sinner\u2019s ball. <\/p>\n

He does, though, find some huge serving to get on the board, to cheers from the Arthur Ashe crowd. <\/p>\n

Another double fault from Bublik and then the forehand goes loose too and sails long. <\/p>\n

It brings up break points and although he saves them both, Sinner locks in on the return to force another. <\/p>\n

Bublik nets on the backhand and Sinner is cruising. Trying to go toe-to-toe from the baseline is going to do it, I don\u2019t think. <\/p>\n
