One of the most prestigious international basketball tournaments is underway. EuroBasket 2025 is being played in Poland, Latvia, Cyprus and Finland with some of the biggest names in the NBA<\/a> taking part in the group play stage of the event, including stars Nikola Joki\u0107<\/a>, Luka Don\u010di\u0107<\/a> and Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NBA stars taking the court for Monday’s action include Joki\u0107, Nikola Vu\u010devi\u0107<\/a>, Lauri Markkanen<\/a> and Alperin Sengun<\/a>. Vu\u010devi\u0107 started off Monday’s slate with 23 points and 15 rebounds in Montenegro’s first win in group play with a 87-81 victory over Sweden. Sengun scored 22 points with 8 rebounds and 5 assists as T\u00fcrkiye improved to 4-0.<\/p>\n

Joki\u0107 only scored six points, but Serbia didn’t need more in an 82-50 win against Czechia that improved its record in group play to 4-0.<\/p>\n

EuroBasket 2025 schedule, format<\/p>\n

The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and the group phase of the tournament will continue through Thursday, Sept. 4. During that period, teams will engage in a round robin tournament with every team in their designated group.<\/p>\n

The top four teams in each group after the round robin will advance to the knockout round, which will officially begin Saturday, Sept. 6, with the round of 16.<\/p>\n

From there, teams will whittle down quickly. The quarterfinals will take place Sept. 9 and Sept. 10, and the semifinals will occur Sept. 12.<\/p>\n

Both the third-place game and the final will take place on Sunday, Sept. 14.<\/p>\n

Who is playing in EuroBasket 2025?<\/p>\n

Don\u010di\u0107 and Joki\u0107 aren’t the only NBA stars<\/a> taking part in EuroBasket 2025. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will suit up for Greece, where he’ll play with his brothers Thanasis and Kostas.<\/p>\n

Some of the other big names at the event<\/a> include Kristaps Porzi\u0146\u0123is, Nikola Vu\u010devi\u0107, Lauri Markkanen, Bilal Coulibaly, Franz Wagner, Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas, Alperen \u015eeng\u00fcn and Deni Avdija, per Yahoo Sports’ Morten Stig Jensen.<\/p>\n

Notably, France will not have San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama or Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert for the tournament. Wembanyama missed time last year due to a blood clot and is prioritizing rest this offseason. Gobert did not deal with a major injury last season, but also cited rest as a reason for skipping EuroBasket 2025.<\/p>\n

How to watch EuroBasket 2025?<\/p>\n

EuroBasket 2025 won’t be available to watch on television networks in the United States. Fans who want to watch the event can do so through a subscription service called Courtside 1891<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Courtside 1891 offers two subscription tiers. The first is a free service called Courtside 1891 Plus, which allows viewers to see “extended highlights and a curated feed for your favorite teams and competitions,” per its website.<\/p>\n

The second service, Courtside 1891 Max, is a paid subscription that enables fans to watch live streams of games.
