Wests Tigers coach Brett Kimmorley will step away from his role at the conclusion of the 2025 NRLW season.<\/p>\n

Kimmorley, who was appointed in 2023 as the club\u2019s inaugural NRLW coach, has overseen the Wests Tigers elite women\u2019s program and contributed to the growth and development of the pathways that now support it.<\/p>\n

With his current deal set to expire at season\u2019s end, the former NSW and Kangaroos halfback has made the decision not to seek an extension beyond his current contract.<\/p>\n

Kimmorley will remain in charge for Wests Tigers final two regular season fixtures against Parramatta and the Warriors.<\/p>\n

Wests Tigers appear destined for the wooden spoon after losing 17-16 in Canberra last weekend and have just one win this season.<\/p>\n

Throughout his time at the helm, Kimmorley has overseen the introduction of 50 players into the Wests Tigers NRLW program, handing deserved professional debuts to a number of players from within the club\u2019s pathway.<\/p>\n

NRL great Greg Inglis is an assistant to Kimmorley at Wests Tigers, and was also on the Queensland coaching staff for this year’s Women’s State of Origin series.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kimmorley said while it was a difficult decision to not continue in his role, he felt the time was right to step away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve really enjoyed my time with this group and contributing to the establishment of this program at the Wests Tigers and am grateful to Richo [CEO Shane Richardson] and the board for their support,\u201d Kimmorley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is the right time for me to step aside and give someone the opportunity to lead this fantastic group into the 2026 season and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmorley thanked the playing group for their commitment during a challenging year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had just about everything thrown at us this year, it\u2019s been challenging for the playing group and staff, but their commitment has never wavered,\u201d Kimmorley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo keep turning up as we have is a credit to everyone and I\u2019m proud of the growth we\u2019ve seen right across this squad this season.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s an exciting time for the program with some outstanding young players coming through and I look forward to seeing how they continue to progress.”<\/p>\n

Richardson thanked Kimmorley for his contribution to the establishment of the club\u2019s NRLW program.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrett\u2019s a fantastic person who brought great knowledge and experience into the role, he\u2019s been a pleasure to work with right across the organisation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs our inaugural NRLW head coach, he holds an important place in the club\u2019s history and we\u2019re grateful for the work he\u2019s done in laying the foundations for the program and pathways that will take the club forward.”<\/p>\n
