Allen, whose ex-wife Mia Farrow alleged in 1992 that he had sexually abused their then-7-year-old child<\/a>, recalled on the latest episode of Bill Maher<\/a>\u2019s podcast, \u201cClub Random,\u201d that he directed Trump in a 1998 movie \u2014 and praised his performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m one of the few people who can say he directed Trump,\u201d noted Allen<\/a>. \u201cI directed Trump in \u2026 \u2018Celebrity,\u2019 and he was a pleasure to work with and a very good actor. He was very polite and hit his mark and did everything correctly and had a real flair for show business.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he would let me direct him now that he\u2019s president, I think I could do wonders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Trump shared a Variety article<\/a> Monday to show those comments off<\/a> on social media, but apparently failed to listen to the actual podcast: Allen had clearly intoned the \u201cnow\u201d in wishing he could direct Trump again, suggesting he\u2019s no fan of the president\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n

Allen had even stated his position clearly moments prior, stating: \u201cI\u2019m not a Trumper.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth good pals of Epstein,\u201d wrote one user on X<\/a>, formerly Twitter, with another person commenting<\/a>: \u201cThis is real? Wow. His brain is going to mush. Or somehow he didn\u2019t realize just how unpopular Woody Allen is now. Then again, he was good friends with Epstein.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI doubt this is real but given that Woody married his daughter it would be fitting,\u201d wrote a third user<\/a> in reference to Soon-Yi Previn, Farrow\u2019s former adoptive child. Allen, now 89 years old, married Previn in 1997 when he was 62 and she was 27.<\/p>\n
