This stemmed from a tournament over two years ago, where Kyrgios sustained the devastating injury<\/a> that has stopped him from playing more than five matches since then.<\/p>\n Kyrgios recently reminded fans of these injury struggles<\/a>, and he has now responded to those who have claimed he has underachieved in his tennis career.<\/p>\n Kyrgios last played singles at the Miami Open<\/a> in March, and has continually had to withdraw from tournaments including Roland Garros<\/a>, Wimbledon<\/a> and the US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n With his wrist injury preventing him from competing, Kyrgios is admittedly nearing retirement<\/a> and he has reflected on his tennis career when speaking to Alexander Bublik<\/a> on his new \u2018Tea with Bublik\u2019 podcast.<\/p>\n In this podcast interview, Kyrgios<\/a> was asked about reaching the Wimbledon final and whether he still thinks about it.<\/p>\n Kyrgios responded by saying the Wimbledon final loss \u2018haunts\u2019 him, before claiming he has actually overachieved coming from where he started his career.<\/p>\n \u201cIt still haunts me\u2026I think look, I guess for me winning a Grand Slam wouldn\u2019t even be for me,\u201d said Kyrgios. \u201cIt would just be to be left alone. <\/p>\n \u201cI guess like that\u2019s something, like for me people say I\u2019ve underachieved and I\u2019m one of the best players never to do things and \u2018wasted his talent\u2019, but for me I look at my journey and where I came from and where I grew up and just everything; it\u2019s like I overachieved a lot. <\/p>\n \u201cLike in my opinion, like for instance me sitting here being in New York, like you\u2019re [Bublik] about to play another US Open, like this is all a crazy journey like so everyday I hear like, \u2018Has Nick Kyrgios wasted his talent? Like he\u2019s the biggest waste of talent ever\u2019. It\u2019s not easy to deal with that every single day. <\/p>\n \u201cSo it\u2019s like, yeah I didn\u2019t win Wimbledon, but like being a Grand Slam finalist has to mean something. Like, I don\u2019t know, does it?
