\u201cIt\u2019s difficult. It\u2019s hard to see somebody who was so, you know, vibrant and strong and so directed shift into this other parts of themself,\u201d Moore said in a vulnerable interview on \u201cThe Oprah Podcast\u201d<\/a> on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut you know, my particular perspective is one \u2015 I really always say it\u2019s so important just to meet them where they\u2019re at,\u201d she shared. \u201cDon\u2019t have an expectation of them needing to be who they were or who you want them to be. And when you do that, I find that there is an incredible sweetness and something that\u2019s soft and tender and loving.\u201d <\/p>\n

Willis, who was married to Moore from 1987 to 2000, was diagnosed with aphasia<\/a>, which affects the ability to communicate, three years ago.<\/p>\n

Moore added that \u201cthe most important place for me is showing up and being present.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if you project where it\u2019s going, it only creates anxiety. If you replay where it was and what you\u2019ve lost, it only creates anxiety and grief,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd so when you stay present, there is so much. And there is still so much of him there. And it may not always be verbal, but it is beautiful given the givens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heming Willis has been open about the struggles and heartache that come with being a caretaker, something that she\u2019s channeling into her forthcoming book, \u201cThe Unexpected Journey.\u201d <\/p>\n

The former model also recently spoke about \u201cone of the hardest decisions\u201d she\u2019s had to make amid Willis\u2019 decline: moving the actor into a separate home for 24\/7 care. <\/p>\n
