The earlier you start saving for retirement, the easier it will be to reach your retirement savings goals<\/a> \u2014 even if you earn a middle-class salary.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you start now and you\u2019re 26 or 27 years old, and you only make the average salary your whole life, you\u2019ll still retire with close to $1.5 million in an investment account that you can live off,\u201d O\u2019Leary told GOBankingRates while discussing his partnership with HelloPrenup<\/a>, an online prenuptial agreement platform.<\/p>\n

The key? Save 15% of your income consistently and invest it wisely<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the discipline,\u201d O\u2019Leary said. \u201cThat is what it\u2019s all about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Building this habit early, he said, makes it easier to stick with your plan long-term. Even if you\u2019re starting later in life, it\u2019s never too late to build wealth<\/a> \u2014 but the earlier you start, the more time your money has to grow.<\/p>\n
