Paul Mescal<\/a> has revealed he will be doing his own singing in the forthcoming biopics of The Beatles<\/a>, and that he has spent time with the band member he will be playing, Paul McCartney.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sam Mendes is making four upcoming Beatles films<\/a> and earlier this year, it was revealed that the Fab Four will be portrayed<\/a> by Harris Dickinson, Mescal, Barry Keoghan<\/a> and Joseph Quinn. Dickinson will play John Lennon<\/a>, Keoghan will play Ringo Starr<\/a> and Quinn will play George Harrison<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The films will all be released in April 2028 and have been described as \u201cbingeable\u201d by Mendes. In a new interview with IndieWire<\/a>, Mescal revealed some more details about the project.<\/p>\n

Asked if he had met the real McCartney, Mescal said: \u201cI have, yeah. He\u2019s an extraordinary man, like to spend any time \u2013 it\u2019s a crazy sentence to say that I\u2019ve spent time with that man, let alone play him.\u201d When asked if he will be doing his own singing, he confirmed: \u201cYeah, yeah, absolutely yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In May, Mescal\u2019s cast mate, Barry Keoghan, discussed meeting Ringo Starr prior to playing the drummer in the films<\/a>. Describing his nerves at meeting the legend, the Irishman said: \u201cWhen I was talking to him, I couldn\u2019t look at him. I was nervous, like right now. But he\u2019s like, \u2018You can look at me,\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cMy job is to observe and kinda take in mannerisms and study him. I want to humanise him and bring feelings to it and not just sort of imitate.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, not every casting has been met with approval.
