\n\tHBO<\/a> just changed the names of six of its U.S. linear channels. Don\u2019t worry, HBO Max is still HBO Max \u2014 for now, at least.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new lineup:
HBO2 is now\u00a0HBO Hits
HBO Signature is now\u00a0HBO Drama
HBO Zone is now\u00a0HBO Movies
MoreMAX\u00a0is now\u00a0Cinemax<\/a> Hits
ActionMAX is now\u00a0Cinemax Action
5starMAX is now\u00a0Cinemax Classics<\/p>\n

\n\tOh, no \u2014 how is this going to work<\/a> on X (fka Twitter)?<\/p>\n

\n\tBut yes, Cinemax is back! Sort of. (Side note: Wow, HBO had at least four terribly named channels.) Those who subscribe to HBO are also subscribed to these half-dozen support channels.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe updated names will also be reflected in available HBO Max live in-app \u201cChannels,\u201d which launched last year\u00a0on select plans. The feature enables subscribers\u00a0to stream live HBO programming via simulcasts.<\/p>\n

\n\tClearly, the branding team at Warner Bros. Discovery can\u2019t sit still. Max (fka HBO Max) reverted back to \u201cHBO Max\u201d<\/a> on July 9, 2025; the reversal was first announced<\/a> at the company\u2019s May upfront event.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe powerful growth we have seen in our global streaming service is built around the quality of our programming,\u201d Zaslav said at the time. \u201cToday, we are bringing back HBO, the brand that represents the highest quality in media, to further accelerate that growth in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
