{"id":118922,"date":"2025-09-04T19:03:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T19:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/118922\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T19:03:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T19:03:09","slug":"googles-notebooklm-now-lets-you-customize-the-tone-of-its-ai-podcasts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/118922\/","title":{"rendered":"Google&#8217;s NotebookLM now lets you customize the tone of its AI podcasts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Google\u2019s AI note-taking and research assistant NotebookLM <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NotebookLM\/status\/1962949985546187120#link={%22role%22:%22standard%22,%22href%22:%22https:\/\/x.com\/NotebookLM\/status\/1962949985546187120%22,%22target%22:%22_blank%22,%22absolute%22:%22%22,%22linkText%22:%22NotebookLM%27s%20demo%20it%20provides%20on%20X%22}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">now lets users customize<\/a> the tone of their Audio Overviews, which are podcasts with AI virtual hosts that summarize and discuss documents shared with NotebookLM, such as course readings or legal briefs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When generating an Audio Overview, users can now choose whether they want their AI podcasts to be formatted as a \u201cDeep Dive,\u201d \u201cBrief,\u201d \u201cCritique,\u201d or \u201cDebate.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Deep Dive features conversational dialogues where two AI hosts unpack the topic with depth and questions. A Brief is a bite-sized overview that\u2019s designed to help you quickly grasp the core ideas from your sources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Critique features a review of your sources and constructive feedback to help you improve, while a Debate includes two AI hosts offering different perspectives on your sources. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"450\" width=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot-2025-09-03-at-1.28.11PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3042123\"  \/>NotebookLMImage Credits:Google<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of the different formats lets you customize how long or short you want the AI podcast to be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to customizable tones, Google is also bringing a highly requested feature to NotebookLM, which is the addition of new voices for the AI podcasts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch comes as Google has been building out NotebookLM over the past few months.
