Canelo Alvarez has put together a stunning career by facing some legendary opponents.<\/p>\n

While the likes of a fight with Manny Pacquiao may have gotten away from Alvarez<\/a>, his resume is still littered with world champions and undefeated competitors.<\/p>\n

As is the case with any dominant fighter, fans are always going to debate whether a certain opponent could be their kryptonite.<\/p>\n

Alvarez may have initially turned down a fight with Terence Crawford<\/a> but we will get to see this super fight in just over ten days at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 presents a very interesting challenge for the Mexican star, though there is one other fighter out there that many believe is still his biggest threat.<\/p>\n

For some time, there has been one opponent that a lot of boxing fans have wanted to see go head-to-head with Canelo Alvarez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old may still be the biggest Mexican star in boxing but there is one fighter who might take this spot once Alvarez decides to call time on his career.<\/p>\n

David Benavidez is undefeated at 30-0 with 26 of his wins coming via knockout.<\/p>\n

While he may only be 28 years old, it looks like his path might not cross with Alvarez due to them currently competing in different weight classes, though this is a matchup that Benavidez has heavily pushed for.<\/p>\n

In an interview with FightHype, Alvarez responded to his fellow Mexican\u2019s callouts and some of the criticism that he has faced for taking on different opponents in recent years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the way he talks, he thinks he\u2019s Superman. He\u2019s very disrespectful, not just with me but with everybody, and he\u2019s accomplished nothing. He\u2019s not even a champion. He\u2019s not even in my weight class [anymore].\u201d<\/p>\n

After diminishing Benavidez\u2019s accomplishments, Alvarez went on to say that after everything he has done in his career, people cannot criticize him for choosing who to fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of things there that doesn\u2019t make sense, and plus, at this point in my career, I can do whatever I want. You guys can\u2019t take anything away from my career and my legacy for anything. If you see my resume, I fought everybody out there, all the elite fighters out there. I\u2019m very good with my resume.\u201d<\/p>\n

David Benavidez predicts Canelo Alvarez\u2019s fight with Terence Crawford<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Clocked N\u2019 Loaded, David Benavidez gave his prediction for Canelo Alvarez\u2019s upcoming fight with Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 has been incredibly successful when moving up weight classes but a lot of people, Benavidez included, believe that this will be too big of a jump for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Canelo\u2019s gonna win, only because of the size, you know what I mean? Crawford is coming up three weight classes so I think, you know, Canelo\u2019s more of a natural super-middleweight, this is Crawford\u2019s first super-middleweight fight so I gotta go for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
