Cameron Munster said the words about Reece Walsh every Brisbane fan will be hoping are prophetic.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe can take them to the Promised Land if he\u2019s got his head screwed on, and I\u2019m sure he has,\u201d Munster said.<\/p>\n
The two-time Storm premiership winner had just watched fullback Walsh carve up \u00a0his Melbourne side 30-14 at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday with two tries, a try assist, a 40\/20 and seven goals.<\/p>\n
It was not a one-off. Brisbane have won nine of 11 to finish the regular season in fourth and Walsh has been instrumental in most of those victories, despite being criticised at times for his uneven displays.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s playing some good footy. You guys have been writing headlines about him being rocks or diamonds and now he\u2019s played really good the last four or five weeks and everyone\u2019s praising him,\u201d Munster said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a class player. If you give some of those guys like Ezra Mam and Reece Walsh time and space they\u2019re going to make you pay.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve got speed to burn, and speed kills in our game at the moment with the six-agains and all the momentum swings.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Broncos will play Canberra away next week for a spot in the preliminary final.<\/p>\n
The past four weeks they have been without skipper Adam Reynolds but veteran Ben Hunt has done a great job at halfback and has a 4-0 record in the role.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old has focused on game management and allowed Walsh to do his thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s been fantastic and tonight he played a great game,\u201d Hunt said in the sheds.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was probably his most controlled game for a while. I don\u2019t think we win without him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s playing some really good footy at the right end of the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m calling plays out there to try and settle him down and he\u2019s like, \u2018nah, let me take it; let me do this and that\u2019 and you\u2019ve just got to set him free.\u201d<\/p>\n
Coach Michael Maguire said Reynolds was \u201ctouch and go\u201d to play Canberra as the Broncos chase their first title since 2006.<\/p>\n
When he does come back, Hunt is content to move back to No.6 or hooker, despite being brilliant in his favourite position.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat would be the obvious decision. He\u2019s the captain of our club, he\u2019s our general and I think that\u2019d be right,\u201d Hunt said.<\/p>\n
