\u201cThe Late Show\u201d may be coming to an end next year, but that does not mean there isn\u2019t still time for the CBS late night staple to revisit some of its past, greatest hits.<\/p>\n

That is exactly what Drew Barrymore did during her Thursday appearance on \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert.\u201d While telling viewers about what to expect when her talk show, \u201cThe Drew Barrymore Show,\u201d returns next week, Barrymore revealed that former \u201cLate Show\u201d host David Letterman will be one of the first guests of her new season. Looking around the Ed Sullivan Theater, Barrymore then joked, \u201cI\u2019ve spent some times here with David Letterman in this room.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have,\u201d Colbert replied, adding, \u201cI\u2019m only mildly insulted that you\u2019ve never gotten on the desk.\u201d Raising her eyebrows, Barrymore cheekily asked Colbert, \u201cYou want me to do a little dance for you?\u201d While the \u201cLate Show\u201d host promised Barrymore that \u201cit was just a joke,\u201d that did not stop her from removing her blazer to reveal a \u201cWe Heart Stephen\u201d design on the back of her shirt and getting on top of his desk, much to Colbert\u2019s shock and delight.<\/p>\n

Her dance Thursday night was a cheeky reference to the 1995 moment when, during an interview on \u201cThe Late Show with David Letterman,\u201d a then-20-year-old Barrymore decided to celebrate Letterman\u2019s birthday by dancing on his desk, flashing him and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Afterward, Letterman famously told her, \u201cYou know, I can\u2019t thank you enough for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrymore did not go so far as to flash Colbert during her \u201cLate Show\u201d interview Thursday, but she did dance, recline and lay on his desk. \u201cIt\u2019s different now!\u201d the talk show host humorously observed as she crawled across Colbert\u2019s desk.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, Drew. I\u2019m afraid. That\u2019s all we have time for,\u201d Colbert jokingly told the laughing Barrymore at the end of the segment. As he then helped her down from his desk, he added, \u201cYou\u2019re the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Suffice it to say, if Thursday night ends up being Barrymore\u2019s last \u201cLate Show\u201d appearance, well, no one can claim now that she didn\u2019t make the most of it.<\/p>\n
