Dr Clare Bailey, the widow of Dr Michael Mosley<\/a>, has opened up about her regret a year after his tragic death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The beloved TV doctor<\/a> died in June 2024, after he vanished during a walk on the Greek Island of Symi. He was missing for four days before his body was discovered.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr Mosley died at age 67<\/a>, likely due to heatstroke or a “non-identified pathological cause,” an inquest found.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In an emotional new interview, Dr Bailey has revealed she’s still struggling with coming to terms with the loss and her one regret.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The one thing I really regret was his, was his\u2026 what are those shoes called? He wore leather shoes with a kind of high\u2026 Hiking boots?” she told The Sunday Times<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Not quite a hiking boot, but he used to wear the same boots years and years and years. And I threw those away because I kind of thought, you know, I’m on a mission. And I rather regret that.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also explained that even a year on she’s still having trouble processing what happened and the reality of his sudden death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I don’t think one can make sense of it. The shock is so profound, I don’t know how to,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview she spoke about the surreal moments after his death, like making the journey home without him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For Clare, she was “terrified” to get on the plane.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr Mosley left behind Clare and their four children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The family returned to Greece a couple of months ago in June to mark the anniversary of his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They did not stay on the island of Symi, because they felt it was going to be “too much” after the four days they spent searching the island for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She explained they did go back to the island on the day and despite not growing up religious they made their way to a monastery and she did find comfort in being there at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Clare revealed one thing that’s also kept her going is focusing on finishing the book they started before his death, titled Eating Together.<\/p>\n
